UPMC is seeking a Flex Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our OB/GYN Associates of Pittsburgh in Wexford, PA. This practice provides gynecologic and obstetric care, including routine care, contraception counseling, surgical needs, and pregnancy care.
This position offers a flexible schedule, working 28-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during daylight hours, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays required. The role involves both front and back office duties. Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on their experience and education, according to the Medical Assistant Career Ladder.
Responsibilities:
1. Send/receive patient medical records following HIPAA and other regulations.
2. Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, complete forms, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient charts.
3. Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments, maintain infection control, and manage supplies.
4. Organize patient flow, assist patients with procedures, take vitals, and relay instructions.
5. Answer calls, provide patient education, and perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and other clinic procedures.
6. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and maintain confidentiality.
7. Under supervision, administer injectable medications and vaccines.
