Offer Description
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Researcher to work with an innovative team led by Professor Leahy-Warren in the Maternal and Infant Health Research Team. The research focuses on social and emotional health and well-being of women and men during the transition to parenthood, breastfeeding, perinatal mental health, and social support, especially in vulnerable communities, aiming to improve service delivery and professional practice.
Note: Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between Irish HEIs. Completion of PD1 or PD2 levels in one HEI generally renders a researcher ineligible for similar levels in another Irish HEI.
Project Title: Post Doctoral Researcher, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Maternal and Infant Research Team
The primary focus of this role is research, with specific emphasis on:
* Conducting a designated research program under supervision.
* Engaging in training and professional development to enhance research skills.
* Gaining experience in grant writing.
* Disseminating research findings, with supervision.
* Understanding the publication process.
* Developing transferable skills such as project management and mentoring.
* Participating in wider research activities.
* Collaborating with postgraduate research students.
* Performing administrative tasks related to research.
* Carrying out additional duties within the scope of the position.
* Contributing to research grant proposals and financial management.
