Financial Accountant -12 month Maternity Cover - County Carlow - 50k
About the Role
My client is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join a leading manufacturing business on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role will be a key contributor to the finance function, owning the weekly payroll process and playing a pivotal role in the month-end close.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the preparation of the weekly payroll file for submission to a third-party payroll provider
* Accurately calculate monthly project costs (materials and labour) in collaboration with Quantity Surveying and Production Admin teams
* Participate in stock takes and complete stock reconciliation exercises
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
* Produce billing documents in cooperation with the Commercial team to ensure accurate invoicing
* Perform debt collection activities and follow up on overdue customer payments
* Liaise with credit insurers to set up new customers with credit insurance
* Act as a key contact for auditors and other third parties for quarterly Invoice Discounting audits
* Support other ad hoc finance-related tasks as required
Key Skills & Requirements
* Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Minimum of three years’ industry experience, ideally in manufacturing, or experience in an accounting practice
* Experience with Finance ERP systems
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Experience preparing payroll files for third-party providers
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
* An inquisitive mindset and willingness to learn
