Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Community Respite Services
Location: Dundalk / Drogheda / Bettystown / Carlingford
RL Management & Consulting Agency are recruiting Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) on behalf of our client to join their Community Respite Services. This is a rewarding opportunity for HCAs with experience in healthcare or social care to support children and young people with additional needs in a safe, supportive, and homely environment.
Role Overview
As a Healthcare Assistant in the respite service, you will provide care and support to children and young people with a range of needs, including behavioural and developmental challenges. You will contribute to a person-centred approach, supporting independence, safety, and wellbeing, while working as part of a dedicated and professional team.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality care and supervision in line with individual care and behaviour support plans.
* Assist with personal care, daily routines, and participation in recreational and community activities.
* Support positive behaviours and promote inclusion, independence, and dignity.
* Collaborate with colleagues to implement care and behaviour support strategies effectively.
* Safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.
* Maintain accurate records in accordance with service requirements.
Requirements
* QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent (essential).
* Previous HCA experience, preferably in social care, disability, or respite services.
* Full driving licence and access to a car (essential).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate, reliable, and committed to providing person-centred care.
* Awareness of safeguarding, challenging behaviour, and person-centred support.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: €13.50-€23.79 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 38 per week
