Role Description
The Trust Officer is responsible for administering trusts within the JP Morgan Chase Workplace Solutions trust companies – Global Shares Trustee Ireland Limited (GSTIL) and GS Trustee (UK) Limited (GSTUKL). They will work closely with Sales, Customer Relationship Management, Implementations, AML/KYC, Equity Plan Management, Tax Operations, and Reconciliations to manage the creation and operation of the individual trusts under these entities.
Trust Officers ensure that GSTIL and GSTUKL fulfill their duties as trustees of individual trusts, meeting fiduciary and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication, understanding of corporate structures and fiduciary responsibilities, regulatory compliance expertise, and a detailed understanding of trust and equity plan management.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage bank, custodian, and brokerage accounts, including decision-making, authorized signatories, and acceptance of terms.
* Oversee asset movements within the trust, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
* Maintain meticulous records and ensure all trust activities are compliant with laws and policies.
* Engage with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
* Collaborate with legal, compliance, and client service teams to ensure proper documentation and adherence to trust deeds and tax certifications.
Board Administration
* Maintain governance structures, minutes, and documentation of trustee decisions.
* Ensure decisions are in the best interests of beneficiaries and document any conflicts of interest.
Tax Operations Oversight
* Review trust registration requirements and conduct tax due diligence.
* Ensure trusts maintain compliance for tax relief benefits.
Plan Management
* Coordinate with the EPM team for data accuracy and reporting.
* Oversee asset reporting, transaction reporting, and compliance with trust deed and regulations.
Educational
* Devote time to personal development and training through fiduciary materials, seminars, and courses.
Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
* Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
* Deep knowledge of fiduciary products, legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
* Experience in Employee Benefit Trust business, either at a fiduciary or law firm.
