Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Specialist to join our organization in Westport, Ireland.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive diagnostic radiology services, including plain film, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy.
* Perform image-guided procedures, such as biopsies and drainages, as required by hospital service scope.
* Deliver timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate radiology reports.
Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration:
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient care and diagnostic strategy.
* Collaborate with referring clinicians to enhance patient outcomes.
On-call Service:
* Participate in the on-call rota, providing urgent and emergency imaging interpretation outside of normal working hours.
Governance and Quality Assurance:
* Ensure compliance with national standards and local protocols.
* Engage in audit, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives.
Education and Training:
* Teach and supervise junior doctors, radiographers, and medical students.
* Participate in postgraduate medical education and CME activities.
Administrative Responsibilities:
* Maintain clinical records and adhere to GDPR and HSE data protection policies.
Requirements:
* Professional Registration: Be registered or eligible to register as a Consultant in the Specialist Division of the Medical Council of Ireland, in the Specialty of Radiology.
* Experience: Sufficient experience in general radiology (minimum 5 years post-graduate, with 2 years in specialty training).
* Language Requirement: Demonstrate proficiency in English.
