Excel Recruitment is currently seeking a Senior Dietitian to join a well-established and welcoming Primary Care team in either Castleblayney or Carrickmacross.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a CORU-registered Dietitian with significant adult caseload experience, looking to work in a service focused on preventative care, chronic disease management, and health promotion.
You will be part of an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to delivering holistic, patient-centred care.
Job Purpose: The Senior Dietitian will lead the provision of a nutrition and dietetic service to adult clients in the community.
The role will involve both individual consultations and group education, with a focus on nutrition support, weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular health, gastrointestinal conditions, and nutritional rehabilitation.
You will work closely with GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals to support patients in achieving their health goals and maintaining independence.

Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist dietary assessments and personalised nutrition care plans for adult clients with a variety of clinical conditions.
Deliver education and counselling to support chronic disease prevention and management, including diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and gastrointestinal disorders.
Develop and implement group education programmes and community workshops on healthy eating and lifestyle management.
Contribute to hospital discharge planning and support patients transitioning to community-based care.
Work collaboratively with Public Health Nurses, Physiotherapists, OTs, and GPs to deliver integrated care plans.
Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior Dietitians and students.
Engage in service development, quality improvement projects, and audits to enhance outcomes and service delivery.
Participate in ongoing professional development, research, and evidence-based practice.
Requirements: BSc/MSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent CORU Registration as a Dietitian (essential) A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, ideally with strong exposure to adult clinical nutrition in a primary care or community setting Proven expertise in managing chronic disease, malnutrition, weight management, and nutritional counselling Excellent communication and motivational interviewing skills Ability to work independently and as part of a wider interdisciplinary team A full clean driving licence and access to a car for domiciliary visits Apply Now: If you're a Senior Dietitian ready to bring your skills and passion to a community-focused role in Castleblayney or Carrickmacross, we would love to hear from you.
