Refrigeration Technician
Location: Blanchardstown
Duration: Permanent
Shift Role: 24/7 site
Day-to-Day of the Role
Provide high-quality service, maintenance, and technical support for HVAC systems, including AHUs, chillers, heat pumps, dehumidification systems, ventilation plant, and associated mechanical equipment, in line with industry standards and safety regulations.
Diagnose mechanical and control‑system faults, carrying out corrective actions, component replacements, and adjustments to restore system performance and efficiency.
Recommend suitable replacement parts, upgrade options, and refurbishment solutions to support long-term asset reliability and energy performance.
Responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of the full range of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.
Ensure that all customer facilities and services are made available within the requirements of the contract specification, and that assets are operating effectively.
Skills & Qualifications
Relevant refrigeration qualification (e.g., F‑Gas Category 1 or equivalent)
Strong technical background in commercial or industrial cooling systems
Minimum 3 years' hands‑on experience working with HVAC or mechanical building services systems in a service, maintenance, or commissioning capacity (essential).
Solid understanding of HVAC engineering, including air handling, ventilation, dehumidification, heat transfer, and system controls.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control‑related faults.
Competent in the use of diagnostic instruments for airflow, pressure, moisture content, temperature, and system performance measurement.
Experience working on industrial refrigeration systems such as stand‑alone fridges/freezers, incubators, stability chambers and blast freezers.
Working in ATEX areas (desirable)
Previous experience in the API pharmaceutical industry (desirable)
Previous experience working on ammonia refrigeration systems (desirable)
