Assistant Transport Manager
Reports to: Plant Manager
Location: Naas, Co Kildare
Division: Power Utilities & Telecommunications
Job Scope
To assist the Plant Manager in the control and management of the company's vehicle and plant fleet. To ensure the fleet is operating in a roadworthy, safe condition at all times and compliant with relevant legislative requirements and in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
Needs to Have
At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
Experience with fleet maintenance management
Mechanical qualification desirable
Familiar with major client specifications
Needs to Do
· Ensure all relevant paperwork i.e. NCT, statutory inspections are current and maintenance service schedules are kept up to date
· Maintain the company fleet to ensure vehicles are always safe and roadworthy
· Arrange for the timely and cost-effective repair and servicing of all vehicles
· Assist with sourcing and pricing of vehicles and plant when so requested
· Oversee the maintenance schedule for all routine repairs and checks on the fleet
· Ensure effective management of fuel cards and maintain and update the fuel tracker, as well as monitor fuel card usage on a weekly basis to ensure no misuse is taking place
· Assist with statutory checks on all lifting equipment owned by the company and that all up to date certificates are kept with all equipment & plant
· Assist with calibration and certification of electrical test equipment
· Ensure the Asset Management System is kept up to schedule and inspections/certifications scheduled as required
· Ensure knowledge of the company SHEQ systems such that all vehicles and plant are maintained so as to be compliant with all environmental regulations

Able to work in an organised and efficient manner
Detailed orientated and able to manage in a pressurised and demanding environment
A strong team player with good interpersonal skills
