Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Engineer, Mechanical, Civil or similarly qualified, to join our team.
Job Title
Mechanical or Civil Engineer (Min. 2–5 Years' Experience)
Location
Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, Ireland – office-based with regular travel to project sites nationwide
Role Overview
The successful candidate will predominantly be involved in leading and managing technical bids including detailed technical writing. The role includes technical engineering duties, site-based work, client reporting, tender preparation, and commercial estimation for mechanical projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience within a small consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Commercial
* Lead the preparation of tenders, proposals, and bid submissions including technical writing
* Support tender evaluation and tender management activities
* Prepare mechanical project cost estimates, including materials, labour, and subcontractor pricing
* Assist with value engineering and commercial assessments
Engineering & Technical
* Carry out mechanical or civil engineering design and analysis appropriate to experience level
* Assist with project delivery across all stages, including feasibility, detailed design, and construction
* Prepare technical calculations, drawings, and specifications
* Support senior engineers with project coordination and delivery
* Liaise with contractors, suppliers, local authorities, and other consultants
Reporting & Client Communication
* Produce clear, professional engineering and tender reports for client issue
* Prepare technical documentation, scopes of work, and project correspondence
* Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
Site Works
* Attend construction sites to carry out inspections, surveys, asset condition assessments and progress monitoring
* Record site observations and prepare site visit, asset condition and compliance reports
* Assist with commissioning, inspections, and project handover documentation as required
* Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering, other engineering / construction management degrees may be considered
* 2–5 years' relevant post-graduate experience
* Exemplary standard of written and spoken English
* Experience in tender preparation, bid management and commercial estimation
* Demonstrated experience producing professional reports for client delivery
* Engineering or construction experience
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software
Desirable
* Experience working with an Engineering Contractor or Engineering Consultancy
* Familiarity with Irish building and H&S regulations and standards
* Mechanical project estimation or commercial experience
