Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Instrumentation Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience in electrical instrumentation craftsperson skills and knowledge.
The apprenticeship is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to become a fully qualified instrumentation craftsperson. You will alternate between on-the-job training at various sites across Ireland and off-the-job training at a SOLAS training facility.
During this apprenticeship, you will be exposed to various industries such as Semi-Conductor, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, and the Sligo Laboratory. Your responsibilities will include:
* Apply mathematical principles to solve technical and scientific challenges
* Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarms, intruder alarms, lightning protection, and metering systems
* Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics, technical drawings, and diagrams
* Safely use specialized hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
* Install and connect different types of wiring and cabling systems
* Work with machines, processes, and control systems
* Diagnose and analyse faults in electrical and instrumentation systems
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of Mathematics, flexibility to relocate to different site locations during the apprenticeship, eagerness and willingness to learn, good communication skills, positive and proactive attitude, strong awareness of Health and Safety practices, and ability to think critically and solve problems.
This apprenticeship offers a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Electrical Instrumentation upon completion.
