Operations Director Role

The Operations Director will lead a team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of various business departments. Key responsibilities include making strategic decisions, developing operational policies, and implementing procedures to support the Operations Director and wider business.

This role requires initiative, autonomy, and prior experience in operations management or a related field, as well as experience in a management or leadership position.

Main Responsibilities:

* Lead multiple project teams across Ireland and internationally to ensure contracts are completed on programme and budget.
* Manage company health and safety compliance, including assessments and incident reporting.
* Support project management and cost control, with regular reporting to the Project and Finance Teams.
* Assist in supporting the company's commercial operations, ensuring adequate resource planning aligned with company strategy and financial budgets.
* Manage and assess quality of work from subcontractors and their ability to maintain scope and programme.
* Cost management: develop and manage project budgets, controlling costs and recording deviations/variations according to client procedures.
* Vendor negotiation: negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain best pricing and service levels for security equipment and installation services.
* Regulatory compliance: ensure all security systems and procedures comply with local laws, data protection regulations, and industry standards.
* Audit preparation: prepare for and assist with internal and external security audits, providing necessary documentation and system access.
* Final inspection: conduct a final inspection to ensure all systems are fully operational and meet specified requirements and standards.
* Documentation: oversee project documentation, including as-built drawings, system configurations, and operational manuals, ensuring accessibility for future reference.
* Post-project review: conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and potential areas for improvement in future projects.
* Management of programme risk and experience of early interaction to ensure deliverable dates and details are achieved.
* Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with the Management team, subcontractors, and clients, responding appropriately to customer requests and concerns.
* Take a proactive role in the pre-sales and pre-bid process.
* Planning/scheduling of works.
* Partner with the Senior Leadership team and represent the Install function during relevant meetings.
* Partner with HR and all people related with projects to contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
* Maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally, with the confidence to influence key stakeholders to drive forward the installation strategy.
* Strong commercial awareness with an electrical background is highly desirable.

Requirements:

* Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
* IT fluency and familiarity with MS packages and MS Project (or similar scheduling packages).
* Third-level qualification in a construction-related field, coupled with at least 15 years' post-graduate experience or 5-10 years in a Project Management role with a recognised security integrator.
* Proven record of delivering large-scale commercial, industrial, or pharmaceutical projects.
* Data centre experience is desirable but not essential.
* Proven ability to build strong relationships, both internally and externally, with the confidence to influence key stakeholders to drive forward the installation strategy.
* Strong commercial awareness with an electrical background is highly desirable.
