Job Purpose
Stock Controller
Duties and Responsibilities
Control of Branch Stocks
Implementing a daily, Interim Stock Checking/Cycle Counts plan, investigating variances.
Daily investigation and correction of Negative Stocks and SIU Stock Adjustments.
Weekly reporting all stock adjustment variances to Group Stock Manager.
Ensuring that all Month End Stock Processes are completed each month.
Goods Inwards
Maintaining and Verifying the Branch Gate Sheet and ensuring that all goods received into the branch are recorded on the Gate Sheet, verified and booked into the system in line with Group Policy. Liaising with suppliers in relation to shortages/damages or incorrect stock on deliveries received.
Special Orders
Monitoring Special Order Stocks and ensuring that they are processed in line with Group Policy.
Stock Locations
Ensuring that the Group policy on Stock Locations is adhered to and in line with Health and Safety requirements.
Aged Stock
Monitoring Aged Stock levels across the branch and implementing an action plan to reduce any such levels.
Stock takes
Preparation and co-ordination of the twice-yearly stock takes and investigating all variances following the count and reporting to the Group Stock Manager.
Stock Levels
Working with the Branch Manager/Purchaser to ensure that optimum levels of stock are held within the branch and that the Branch Stock Valuation is in line with targets issued and that Purchase Orders are raised in line with Group Policy.
Skills and Requirements
Strong attention to detail.
Experience in a similar role.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Team player.
Relevant building materials knowledge is an advantage.
