The Messaging SDK for iOS powers the messaging experience for customers looking to provide the best support possible for their business. We are looking for someone who would be actively involved in the discovery and implementation of new capabilities on a feature team. You have a broad view of standard practices in the iOS community and have experience working with concepts like dependency injection, reactive programming, inversion of control, unit & instrumentation testing. Tapping into their experience mentoring colleagues and championing engineering excellence, they will help drive engineering standards impacting the Messaging SDK teams.
What you’ll be doing
Working as part of an agile, intelligent, passionate, and humble team to deliver on top-level initiatives that enable crucial capabilities for our customers and integrators.
Expect to work closely with product management and colleagues from web and backend teams to represent the mobile perspective as features are being architected across the workstreams.
Be an integral part of the development life-cycle including conceptualisation, design, implementation, testing, and ensuring high quality releases of the Messaging SDK.
Participating in technical discussions and decision-making with other teams and partners across the wider engineering organisation!
What you bring to the role
Required experience:
Proficient with Swift and Objective-C
Consistent track record of coaching and mentoring junior developers engineering skills.
Solid understanding of the iOS platform.
Experience writing Unit & Instrumentation tests.
API Integrations, experience in integrating RESTful APIs and other web services into iOS applications, handling JSON/XML data, and networking.
Good communication skills - you can effectively express your point of view to others and just as importantly, actively listen to others ensuring a good discussion.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred requirements:
Experience using WebSocket for asynchronous communication.
Knowledge of modern architectures and design principles.
Expertise with other mobile platforms or SDKs is a plus.
Open-source contributions or active Github profile.
Experience architecting SDKs and large scale features across teams.
We develop majorly in Swift, with some Objective-C knowledge expected.
Github Actions for CI/CD in YAML and ruby scripts.

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
