Title: Environmental ScientistLocation: Hybrid in Co. Wicklow or Co. Cork with site travel across Ireland requiredWe’re looking for an experienced and motivated Environmental Consultant/Scientist to join our client's team. This role focuses on the successful delivery of contaminated land remediation projects, with a strong emphasis on the remediation of land, water and buildings following oil contamination. If you have a passion for environmental science and thrive in a dynamic environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.About the Role:You’ll play a key role in delivering site investigation and remediation projects, both in the field and from the office. The position involves regular travel, and a company vehicle is provided. Our client is looking for someone who’s proactive, curious, and always eager to learn, qualities we actively support through a comprehensive personal development programme.Key Responsibilities:Deliver technical proposals for contaminated land investigations and remediation, particularly oil spill projects.Manage the scoping, preparation, and execution of site assessments and remediation plans.Supervise field service teams in sampling techniques, monitoring, and response actions.Prepare detailed technical reports, remediation option appraisals and programmes.Conduct soil waste classification and data analysis to support environmental decision-making.Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders as project needs require.Direct and deliver field activities including soil and groundwater testing, air quality monitoring, and remediation actions.Support and mentor junior team members, providing oversight and guidance.Collaborate closely with the Project Management team to ensure successful project outcomes.What We’re Looking For:A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in contaminated land, with solid knowledge of oil contamination and remediation methods.Strong scientific background and analytical skills.Comfortable working in both office and field environments.Valid driver’s licence (required).A team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.What We Offer:Flexible/remote working optionsCompetitive salary (commensurate with experience)Company vehicle and fuel cardAnnual performance bonusPension schemeIncome protection & death-in-service insuranceCompany phone and laptopGym access and bike-to-work schemeOngoing learning and development support
