Instrumentation Engineer Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
As a seasoned instrumentation engineer, you will be responsible for leading various stages of design from concept to completion.
* Project Leadership: Spearhead large-scale projects with significant engineering complexities.
* Technical Expertise: Analyse and offer effective solutions to complex engineering problems.
* Team Management: Oversee an instrumentation team on multiple projects.
Your expertise will also include assembling and managing bid, approval, and construction issue instrumentation packages. Additionally, you will provide support to fee and capital budget proposals as required.
You will be instrumental in mentoring instrumentation engineering staff at junior and intermediate levels. Furthermore, you will be responsible for checking other engineers' work for accuracy and quality, and undertaking peer reviews.
This role requires extensive independent contact with clients, vendors, and project field personnel. You will attend and participate in client meetings, direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor, review, and sign-off instrument installations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in instrumentation engineering, with experience leading large-scale projects. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, along with excellent communication and leadership skills.
A strong understanding of instrumentation systems, principles, and practices is essential. Proficiency in software tools such as CAD, PDM, and CMMS is highly desirable.
