Birthday Day Off Maternity Leave / Paternity Leave Flexible Working hours Professional development support Specific Job Details: Position Title: Senior Financial Accountant Contract: Permanent full-time - Working Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday-Friday: 9 am-6 pm Location: Centric Health Head Office, Floor 7, Intact (RSA) House, Dundrum, Dublin 16 Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Financial Reporting Lead and oversee a small team responsible for revenue accounting across the Irish business units, ensuring strong controls, consistent accounting treatment, and well-maintained supporting schedules. Review and approve revenue and payroll postings, (including accruals and deferrals and payroll journals), ensuring accuracy, completeness, correct period cut off, and appropriate allocation by entity and cost centre. Maintain ownership of assigned balance sheet areas, preparing high-quality reconciliations and supporting schedules and ensuring ongoing effective controls. Partner with Finance Business Partners to support monthly P&L reporting for individual GP practices, delivering accurate results to tight month-end deadlines. Prepare and present clear monthly analysis of revenue and payroll, incorporating trend analysis, budget versus actuals, and prior year comparisons, highlighting key drivers, risks, and unusual movements. Investigate, resolve, and clearly document revenue, payroll and balance sheet variances, escalating issues as required and ensuring a strong audit trail. Act as the primary finance contact for the third-party payroll provider, coordinating monthly payroll reporting, resolving queries, validating outputs, and ensuring timely and accurate information for accounting and reporting. Support management decision0making through timely insights contributing to reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning cycles. Act as a key contributor in responding to external audit queries related to the above. Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement Manage, support, and develop a small team of accounts assistants, promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, designing and implementing process efficiencies within finance, including standardisation, automation, and improved used of systems and data. Ensure compliance with best practice internal controls, proactively identifying and implementing control enhancements. Support the wider finance function through the delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks and reporting requirements. Participate in and lead assigned projects, ensuring delivery on time and within scope. Undertake other duties relevant to the role as required. Required Experience & Skills Minimum 3+ years' experience in monthly management accounting and/or external audit. Ideally a Big 4/Top 8 practice-qualified ACA, with 2-3 years' post-qualification industry experience. Previous people management or supervision experience desirable. Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP system is advantageous. Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent Excel skills. Demonstrated experience identifying and delivering process improvements within a finance function. Comfortable leveraging technology, including automation and AI tools, to improve reporting efficiency, control and insight. Additional European language capability (German or Dutch) is an advantage. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple business units and with internal and external stakeholders.
