CRH has an exciting opportunity within its Corporate Finance and Strategic Planning team. The role will provide a comprehensive understanding across CRH’s Strategic Planning, Corporate Finance and M&A / Divestment processes.
Based in the Group headquarters in Stonemason’s Way, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, the role is cross-Divisional and cross-functional, with international exposure to other functions and elsewhere in CRH, supporting decision making by the CRH Board of Directors and Group Leadership Team. The continued growth of the Group is anticipated to create opportunities for progression both within the team and in the wider organization.
The key elements of the role are outlined below. Flexibility may be required, with some core process elements, together with periodic emphasis on project-based activities.
Strategic Financial Planning
Review and consolidate Divisional financial planning models as part of the 5-year Strategic Plan process
Develop integrated projections, working with the Finance, Performance, Strategy and Development teams
Perform detailed scenario analysis, as well as quantifying the impacts of different capital allocation strategies
Review multi-year performance bridges and assess macro trends and external third-party forecasts
Assist with the design and implementation of financial planning tools and systems
Assist in the preparation of Group and Divisional Strategy Documents for the CRH Board.
C orporate Finance
Support the leadership team on a wide range of corporate finance projects
Prepare cost of capital updates and review capital structures of CRH and sector companies
Assess key impacts of large deals e.g. e.g. EPS, debt metrics as well as sector and end-use
Review and monitor performance of recent acquisitions
Work with other departments on confidential projects e.g. Group Leadership Team / Investor Relations
Work with the team to develop diligence toolkits and guidelines for corporate finance and valuation activities
Perform detailed benchmarking across CRH and industry peers
Support finance and valuation-related workstreams of M&A and Divestment processes
Liaise with 3rd party advisors on both buy-side and sell-side transactions
Work with other deal team members across multiple workstreams on live transactions
Provide continuity through the deal cycle – Due Diligence / Valuations / SPA review / Completion
Review investment opportunities for medium and large transactions, supporting GLT and CRH Board
Your Key Attributes

Self-motivated with the desire for personal and Group achievement
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with Managing Directors, CFOs and other senior leaders
Your Educational Background and Experience
Professional qualification (ACA, CFA or equivalent)
Strong financial and analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commercial mindset focused on economic value
Knowledge of financial modelling and valuations
Experience of designing / using financial planning tools / systems, (particularly Hyperion) would be an advantage
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Role level will be commensurate with experience.
