Job Description:
Serene Marine Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Marine Surveyor to join our Dublin team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of marine surveys. The Marine Surveyor will be responsible for conducting cargo, bunker and draft surveys, assessing vessel conditions, and contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough cargo surveys to assess condition, quantity, and quality.
Perform bunker surveys to verify fuel quantities and ensure accuracy.
Carry out draft surveys to determine vessel displacement
Prepare detailed reports based on survey findings, including recommendations for corrective actions.
Collaborate closely with team members to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Communicate effectively with clients, providing exceptional service and addressing inquiries.
Participate in decision-making processes related to marine operations and safety protocols.
Demonstrate a critical and analytical approach to problem-solving.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and industry best practices.
Other tasks as requested by Managing Director from time to time.
Qualifications, Experience, and Required Skills:
Essential background in the marine industry or port operations.
Proven experience as a Cargo Surveyor is required.
Must maintain a certain standard of physical fitness due to the nature of the job.
Possess a valid Full European driver's license.
Capable of both independent work and effective teamwork.
Pro-active and positive 'can do' attitude.
Holds a TIC (formally IFIA) certificate OR is willing to obtain one.
Demonstrates excellent customer-focused attitude.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable working at heights, in water, and within confined spaces.
