Job Title: Cattle Reproduction Specialist

The employee may be required to travel regularly around the farms, mainly within the Munster region.
Occasional business trips abroad may also be required, depending on business needs.
Working hours: 39 hours a week.
The Cattle Reproduction Specialist focuses on the practical delivery of breeding programmes and day-to-day reproductive management within cattle herds.
The role is centred on improving herd fertility outcomes, supporting genetic progress, and ensuring efficient breeding operations on the farm.
This position is hands-on and farm-based, with a strong emphasis on practical skills, consistency, and attention to detail.
The Specialist plays a key role in delivering breeding programmes efficiently while supporting overall herd productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out Fertility and Breeding work in dairy and/or beef herds in line with established breeding plansand protocols
Supporting heat detectionthrough observation, activity monitoring systems, and farm records
Assisting with theimplementation of synchronisation and timed fertility and breeding programmesas directed by herd management and Veterinary advisors
Maintaining accurate breedingand fertility records, including services, returns, and calving data
Monitoring breeding performanceand reporting trends or issues to farm management and Veterinary advisors.
Supporting calving periodsthrough observation and routine on-farm assistance, including basic newborncare where appropriate
Assisting with the organisationand coordination of breeding schedules and herd reproductive workflows
Working alongside theVeterinary to ensure consistent application of breeding practices and protocols
Supporting herd fertilityplanning by providing practical input and feedback based on on-farmobservations
Following all relevantregulations and working under appropriate veterinary direction where required
Requirements
Proven experience in cattlehandling as in the Fertility andBreeding field
Strong understanding of heatdetection and breeding timing
Good record-keeping andorganisational skills
Ability to work independentlyand as part of a farm team
Practical, detail-orientedapproach to herd work
