Head of Sales

Role Overview
Our client is seeking an ambitious, commercially driven Head of Sales to lead and scale their sales function across Ireland. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for shaping and executing the national sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and strengthening market presence within the facilities services/hospitality sector.
The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a strong track record of winning and retaining large-scale, multi-service contracts, while inspiring and developing high-performing sales teams. Operating as a key member of the senior leadership team, this individual will partner closely with C‑suite colleagues to align commercial objectives with broader business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and deliver a clear, data-driven sales strategy aligned to the organisation’s growth ambitions.
Identify and penetrate key market segments, including public sector and large private sector clients.
Build long-term strategic relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
Lead the acquisition of new business across integrated facilities management services.
Drive pipeline development, bid strategy, and conversion of high-value opportunities.
Oversee complex tender processes and ensure a disciplined, competitive approach to pricing and solution design.
Maintain a strong focus on recurring revenue, contract retention, and margin improvement.
Team Leadership & Performance
Lead, mentor, and develop a national sales team, fostering a high-performance and accountable culture.
Set clear targets, KPIs, and performance metrics across the team.
Coach individuals to enhance capability in solution selling, negotiation, and client management.
Build succession plans and support talent development across the function.
Commercial Excellence
Collaborate with operations, finance, and service delivery teams to ensure seamless transition from sales to mobilisation.
Ensure robust governance of pipeline forecasting, reporting, and CRM utilisation.
Drive consistency in value proposition, messaging, and go‑to‑market approach.
Executive Contribution
Act as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to corporate strategy and growth planning.
Provide market insights and competitor intelligence to inform business decisions.
Represent the organisation at industry events, client engagements, and key forums.
Person Specification
Experience
Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within facilities services, property services, outsourcing, or a comparable B2B service environment.
Strong track record of delivering significant revenue growth and winning large, multi-year contracts.
Experience leading geographically distributed sales teams.
Exposure to public procurement processes and complex tendering environments.
