Cloud Infrastructure Specialist
Data center engineers play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of large-scale data centers. Their responsibilities include maintaining and deploying hardware, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise, and managing complex infrastructure builds under tight deadlines.
* The specialist addresses server, network hardware, and infrastructure issues on a daily basis to ensure efficient data center operations.
* They participate in the deployment of large-scale infrastructure projects with aggressive timelines.
* Diagnose and resolve connectivity problems related to copper or fiber cabling for swift repairs.
* Deliver clear and professional technical information, particularly when configuring and troubleshooting intricate systems.
* Manage internal ticketing systems efficiently to resolve technical issues while providing excellent customer service.
* Identify and troubleshoot server hardware issues, including component replacements for malfunctioning parts.
* Monitor and manage on-site spare parts inventory to ensure availability and organization.
* Perform racking, cabling, and installation of both server and network infrastructure, coordinating additional services as needed.
* Enhance system stability and performance by following established processes and updating documentation using DCIM and power management tools.
The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of experience in a high-availability, secure data center environment within IT/Technical Operations roles. Practical experience in troubleshooting and resolving data center, network, or server hardware issues is also essential. Strong attention to detail, particularly in cable management and organization, is vital. A thorough understanding of copper and fiber cabling in a data center context is beneficial. Experience with data center documentation and asset tracking tools is a plus. Knowledge of Juniper, Cisco, Dell, or HP hardware is advantageous.
