Job Description

This is a daytime service. Working hours may require the post holder to work weekends, nights, and public holidays on a rota basis. You may also be required to work at short notice in the event of an emergency and to attend training or meetings at other locations (e.g., regionally within the South East).


Duties and Responsibilities

* Provide non‑directive support and advocacy services to users.
* Promote service‑user participation and social interaction with the community, supporting and following behavioural care/support plans.
* Support clients/residents on general appointments as part of care/support plans.
* Act as an advocate for service users as appropriate.
* Support service users and maintain a safe environment.
* Supervise GSCK while on duty.
* Write reports and maintain accurate records.
* Communicate with incoming staff, students, or volunteer staff at shift changeover.
* Attend to reception duties (telephone, fax, typing, case files, etc.).
* Attend management/operational supervision.
* Operate the duty roster in accordance with manager’s agreement.
* Contact managers immediately in the event of an emergency; otherwise refer to the General Manager.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding services users and staff and all related information.
* Carry out duties assigned by the Service Manager; adapt to new plans and situations as required.
* Ensure service users are aware of their responsibilities as per signed forms.
* Be fully aware of GSCK Health & Safety File and emergency procedures, and report any concerns.
* Ensure the building is safe and secure at night.
* Attend training programmes, workshops, and courses as required.
* Maintain high standards of work performance, attendance, appearance, and punctuality.
* Maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
* Have working knowledge of National Quality Standards for Homeless Services and Better Safer Healthcare standards.
* Must possess a full clean driving licence.


Requirements

* Min Level 5 – Social Care (required).
* Full clean Irish driver’s licence (preferred).
* Work authorisation in Ireland (required).


Schedule

* 8‑hour shift.
* Weekend availability.
* No more than 39 hours per week.

Specified‑purpose. Pay: From €14.50 per hour.
