As part of our journey, we have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Operations Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities
Effectively manage the transport function and implementation of optimal transport solutions for Musgrave.
Support and assist the warehouse, supply chain and General Manager through the organisation and management of the transport function so that depot targets are met, providing the best possible service to our customers within budgetary targets.
Manage transport teams ensuring all key performance indicators are achieved or exceeded.
Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations for fleet management, maintenance and drivers hours.
Monitor driver performance, provide feedback, and address performance or disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner in line with our company performance and disciplinary procedures.
Develop and motivate drivers to achieve high working standards and identify driver training requirements.
Produce daily/weekly operational KPI and management briefing reports.
Essential Qualifications
CPC Transport Qualification.
At least three years of managing and leading a professional result‑focused team.
Proven track record of delivering results in a fast‑moving, high‑volume FMCG commercial environment.
Experience in the logistics sector with national multiple deliveries weekly.
Strong leadership skills with a track record in employee motivation and performance management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful reports.
Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficient in using transport systems and other relevant software.
Full, clean driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
Degree in Logistics, Finance, or other business‑related discipline.
Knowledge and experience of working with appropriate computerised logistics management/ERP systems.
