The IHREC Audit and Risk Committee is a strategic body established to support governance and progress the Commission's objectives in accordance with the Code of Practice for Governance of State Bodies.
Key responsibilities include:
* Evaluating the effectiveness of internal control systems to ensure they align with the Commission's goals.
* Providing expert advice on matters related to the management of IHREC Vote 25.
* Overseeing the work of the Internal Auditor to ensure high-quality performance.
The Committee will comprise a minimum of four members and a maximum of seven, including at least two members of the Commission and two external independent persons. This diverse composition will bring together individuals with expertise in corporate governance, financial management, and risk management.
