Role Purpose
The Assistant Finance Manager is a qualified accountant responsible for managing the
accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of Group financial operations
. This role combines operational leadership with core reporting duties, including oversight of Accounts Receivable, ownership of month-end reporting for assigned entities, and process improvement within ERP systems. The postholder acts as deputy to the Finance Manager, providing technical leadership and strengthening internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Finance & Controls:
* Lead the
full Accounts Receivable (AR)
cycle (invoicing, receipts, reconciliation, and debt management) for the Group.
* Oversee
daily bank reconciliations
and authorise payment batches, ensuring dual signatory and internal controls are maintained.
* Reporting & Governance:
* Coordinate and own the
month-end close
, ensuring all journals and adjustments are completed on time.
* Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and audit working papers
* Process Improvement & Leadership:
* Drive
system automation and process improvements
within the primary ERP system (e.g., Sage Intacct).
* Deputise for the Finance Manager in their absence, including month-end sign-off and payment authorisations.
Requirements
* Qualified accountant
(ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with
3+ years PQE
.
* Experience using a major
ERP system
(e.g., Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills.
