Contract: Infrastructure Support EngineerStart Date: Jan 2026Duration: 12 monthsLocation: Dublin, remote but requires international travelRate: €400 - €450 per day (any international travel fully expensed)Reference: 20151*Must have a passport*The Infrastructure Operator Engineer is responsible for deploying, operating, and maintaining secure and reliable infrastructure systems across physical and virtual environments. This role supports mission-critical operations, ensuring 24/7 availability of cloud and data center services, and contributes to lifecycle management, customer support, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Deployment & ConfigurationDeploy and configure cloud and data center instances (e.g., air-gapped environments).Manage physical and virtual infrastructure components including servers, storage, and networking equipment.Execute operational tasks such as patching, upgrades, and break-fix services.Operations & ReliabilityMonitor system performance and ensure uptime across secure networks.Implement and maintain disaster recovery protocols and backup procedures.Escalate unresolved Tier 1/Tier 2 issues to engineering or vendor support teams.Customer Support & Lifecycle ManagementRespond to support calls and resolve customer issues within SLA timelines.Deliver updates and communications to customers regarding system status and changes.Security & ComplianceApply security patches and updates in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.Ensure compliance with operational standards and certifications (e.g., Google technology certification).Collaboration & DocumentationMay be asked to lead a team of engineers, and/or assist in the onboarding and training of new engineer teammates.Work closely with deployment engineers, support agents, and program managers.Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and runbooks.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.3+ years of experience in infrastructure operations or system administration.Strong understanding of Kubernetes (on-prem), Linux CLI, network protocols, virtualization, and cloud platforms.Ability to work onsite with no remote option for up to 6 weeks at time.PreferredCertifications such as ITIL, CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.Experience with air-gapped environments and cloud deployments.Work Conditions:Primarily remote work with some travel requirements to customer sitesNo overtime or on-call requirements.Networking People (UK) is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
