Do you want to join a fun, vibrant team working in the luxury 4* Brehon Hotel in the beautiful Killarney? Pattondale Developments LTD T/A The Brehon Hotel, Muckross Road, Killarney, Co. Kerry is currently recruiting for the role of Pastry Chef for a permanent, full-time 39hr week position.
The ideal candidate will manage the day to day operation of the pastry section, will prepare a variety of baked goods, desserts and pastries ensuring high quality and consistence in each product that will exceed guest expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for the relevant candidate to expand and progress their career.
Responsibilities
* Pastry production of cakes, desserts, breads, petit fours.
* Creating new dessert menus
* Managing inventory, overseeing food safety practices
* A passion for baking, attention to detail, and strong knowledge of pastry techniques are essential.
* Experience with Afternoon Tea is an advantage
* Perform opening, mid-shift and closing duties complying with operational standards
* Have fun and enjoy your work!
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria
* Have 2 years previous experience in a similar role
* Hold an in date HACCP Level 2
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry trends
* Excellent creativity, presentation skills and attention to detail
* Be innovative and creative with menus
* Good communication and organisation skills
* Have experience in handling pressurised situations and busy kitchens
* Be flexible & adaptable
