We are currently hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 – Medical / Respiratory Unit for a hospital in Galway, Ireland .
This is a Fixed Term/ full-time position (37.5 hours per week) .

Deliver safe, holistic, and high-quality nursing care in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) guidelines.
Practice nursing in compliance with professional clinical standards, local policies and procedures, and current legislation.
Manage an individual caseload appropriate to the requirements of the role.
Promote and apply evidence-based, person-centred care in all aspects of practice.
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, communicating effectively and supporting team objectives.
Engage with service users, families, carers, and colleagues in care planning, treatment decisions, and the provision of advice and support.
Communicate assessment outcomes, care plans, progress, and recommendations verbally and in writing, in line with organisational policies.
Plan and facilitate safe discharge or transition of service users between services when required.
Support staff leadership by fostering motivation, positive working relationships, and high standards of performance.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of nursing standards, protocols, and guidelines to ensure excellence in patient care.
Play a key role in maintaining a safe environment for service users, staff, and visitors through ongoing risk assessment and management.
Engage in continuous professional development, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of nursing practice and professional standards.
Stay informed of current literature, nursing research, and developments in nursing management, education, and clinical practice, and attend relevant study days.
Provide strong professional and clinical leadership within the service.
Coordinate and allocate nursing and support staff within designated areas, ensuring appropriate skill mix, efficient use of resources, and responsiveness to changing workload demands.
Requirements Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
BSc in Nursing is preferred; a management qualification is desirable.
Minimum of three years post-registration experience, including at least one year in respiratory nursing or a related specialty.
Demonstrated clinical, managerial, and administrative competence to effectively fulfil the requirements of the role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support staff to achieve high standards of care.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work practices in a dynamic clinical environment.
