The Role
:
Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business, and across the Local Authority user base. IT Operations is responsible for all operational run activities across Applications, Operational Technology, Service Management and Infrastructure.
The IT-OT (Operational Technology) team houses the Operational Technology skills necessary to ensure the implementation and availability of all IT-OT applications and infrastructure, including hardware, networks, data centre and disaster recovery. The IT-OT team plan and manage technical OT projects to renew and update the underlying OT infrastructure and safeguard UÉ OT systems by implementing robust security standards such as the Network and Information Systems Directive. The team play a critical role in the operation, integration and connectivity of systems such as the the National Telemetry System, Leakage Management System, Operational Data Store and Enterprise Data Historian. The team manages and maintains these systems as befitting UÉ designation as an Operator of Essential Services.
Reporting to the IT-OT Infrastructure Lead, the IT-OT Infrastructure Analyst will be responsible for managing the day to day operational IT Infrastructure and services supporting UÉ, as well as collaborating on the transition of new or enhanced services from projects into operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support the smooth and efficient operation of OT WAN/LAN, Infrastructure, and related services as appropriate.
* Participate in the OT infrastructure workload across BAU operations but also in support of project delivery and transition to BAU operations implementing/adhering to a set of best practice infrastructure processes, including release management, configuration management, asset management, and change management
* Involvement in service continuity and back-ups, maintaining and rehearsing a set of plans to support the overall UÉ business continuity plans implementing measures to improve the availability of services where possible
* Support the Infrastructure Team in managing availability of UÉ systems, including capacity management of on-prem/cloud infrastructure (servers, SAN's, virtual servers, load balancers, etc.)
* Support in assuring OT availability and stability efforts and meeting monthly and annual OT KPI availability targets
* Monitor all of UÉ's servers, networks, and computer systems for irregularities and performance issues
* Assess system data and error logs, along with user reports, to determine areas for improvement or repair. Determine when systems or servers are due for upgrades
* Core responsibilities include, Wintel estate, Citrix infrastructure, AD, ADFS and Cloud Operations, patching and monitoring of all IT-OT operational infrastructure
* Support the Infrastructure Lead with day to day management of OT Infrastructure vendors
* Complete the addition, modification or removal of any OT Infrastructure asset in a standard and controlled manner
* Support in the continuous improvement of Infrastructure services to support business demand supporting the corporate IT Infrastructure, Technical and Security standards
* Support the implementation and maintenance of robust security measures to protect the system and maintain availability
* Support in driving compliance with cybersecurity compliance requirements and best practice in line with the Network and Information Systems Directive (e.g: NIST Controls, CIS Hardening, IEC 62443 etc)
* Assist in ensuring that all required Infrastructure support documentation is prepared and maintained, reflecting the fast pace of infrastructure change
* Support the IT-OT Infrastructure Lead with regards to Business continuity and Disaster Recovery testing and planning
* As part of the overall IT-OT Support Model Resolver Group network, support in day to day infrastructure issues and resolution of incidents and tickets raised, acting as an escalation point, taking ownership through to resolution (working closely with the IT-OT Operational Support team)Assist in the implementation of the Uisce Éireann Telemetry Strategy as a key contributor for Uisce Éireann IT, Asset Operations and Asset Management through the Telemetry Programme's work streams
* Support in management of IT-OT legacy systems as required
* Participation in On Call Rota and flexibility for out of hours work as required Other duties as required from time to time
General Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business.
* Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
* Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
* Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
* Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
* Experience managing a team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills
* Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
* Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others
* Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
