Junior Power Supply Design EngineerLocation:Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid / On-site)The RoleOur client is looking for aJunior Power Supply Design Engineerto join their growing engineering team working on the design and development ofAC/DC and DC/DC power supplies. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience across the full power-electronics development lifecycle, supported by senior engineers and technical mentors.You will contribute to the design, simulation, prototyping, and testing of efficient, reliable power solutions used in a range of industrial, medical, automotive, or consumer applications.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design and development of AC/DC and DC/DC power suppliesAssist with schematic capture, component selection, and basic magnetics designPerform circuit simulation using tools such as SPICE, LTspice, or PLECSSupport PCB layout reviews in collaboration with layout engineersHelp with prototype bring-up, testing, and debugging in the labCarry out electrical measurements, including efficiency, thermal, EMI, and transient testingAssist with documentation, test reports, and design reviewsWork closely with senior engineers to improve design robustness, efficiency, and reliabilityComply with relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g. IEC, UL, CE)Required Skills & ExperienceDegree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related disciplineBasic understanding of power electronics fundamentals (SMPS topologies, MOSFETs, diodes, magnetics)Familiarity with AC/DC or DC/DC converter conceptsExposure to simulation tools (SPICE-based tools preferred)Basic lab experience with oscilloscopes, power analysers, and electronic loadsWillingness to learn and develop within a hands-on engineering environmentGood communication skills and a collaborative mindsetDesirable (Not Essential)Internship, placement year, or thesis focused on power electronics or power suppliesExposure to EMI/EMC testing or thermal designFamiliarity with PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, etc.)Knowledge of wide-bandgap devices (SiC or GaN)What's On OfferCompetitive graduate / junior-level salaryStructured training and mentorship from experienced power-electronics engineersHands-on exposure to real-world power supply designsClear progression path into Power Electronics Design Engineer rolesIf this Junior Power Supply Design Engineer vacancy is of interest, then please apply with an up-to-date CV and contact information.
