Design Manager - Dublin
John Sisk & Son is delighted to be working on a cutting-edge development. As an experienced Design Manager, you will work on exciting Data Centre projects, utilizing innovative processes to ensure the highest efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the design management procedure is followed and implemented appropriately on the projects. This includes production and maintenance of the DRM, design programme, RFI schedule, MIDP (in conjunction with the CDE), IRS, statutory condition trackers, design change and risk trackers, and design documentation required to achieve practical completion.
2. Take ownership of design-related items within the tender process or during the construction phase, including producing written narratives and presentation materials.
3. Participate in the selection of the design team, including producing the design team appointments (consultant and subcontractor), whether directly employed or split responsibilities in traditional setups, covering DRM, scope, MIDP, programme, and fee.
4. Understand and provide solutions for 'strategic design' items within tender/construction documents, in line with company procedures, considering planning, building control/BCAR, third-party requirements, and brand standards.
5. Ensure the design considers all aspects of health & safety, sustainability, and quality.
6. Collaborate with the site team (including QS) to explore alternative design solutions, including MMC.
Requirements:
1. Degree Level 6 in architecture, engineering, building services, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
2. Desirable experience with CDE, BIM, and planning software.
3. Desirable training and experience with sustainability accreditation and H&S.
4. Experience with site/delivery, commercial, and contract procedures.
5. Understanding of building regulations/BCAR, planning permission, and PSDP procedures.
6. Good communication and presentation skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
8. HSE / Acute hospital experience is desirable.
