Toolmaker - County Westmeath
This role will be full-time and shift work.
In this role you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing tools used in manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with engineers, operators, and the production team to ensure that tools are properly designed, constructed, and maintained.
Responsibilities
* Manufacture, repair, and service all tools, jigs, and fixtures.
* Set up tools in presses ranging from 50 to 500 ton.
* Operate, set, and program CNC, PLC, and robotic machines.
* Monitor performance of machines and tool longevity.
* Attend machine breakdowns to identify root cause and solve the problem.
* Use machinery such as lathes, presses, milling machines, and grinders to cut and shape the tools.
* Work effectively with all team members to assist in continuous improvement of systems and processes and ensure best practice is consistently applied.
* Monitor tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or possible improvements.
* Use precision measurement instruments such as micrometer, gauges, and vernier calipers to check the tool's dimensions.
* Experience in repair and maintenance of pneumatic special purpose equipment.
* Operate and maintain production equipment and tools correctly while ensuring health and safety of self and others.
* Carry out preventive maintenance on tooling as per PM schedule.
Qualifications
* Qualified Toolmaker.
* Post-apprentice experience of 2-4 years.
* Experience in press tool maintenance and repair works.
* Knowledge of set-up of tools in presses.
* CNC, PLC and robotic programming an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate well in English.
