This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment About The Role Role Overview The Financial Controller will play a key role in shaping the financial direction of our hospitality division, managing both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning. The role requires someone commercially sharp, operationally hands-on, and able to lead a high-performing finance team. This is a growth role for someone ready to take ownership of financial processes and support a group scaling rapidlyboth organically and through acquisition. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end management accounts. Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting. Monitor cash flow, revenue, and profitability to ensure group stability. Cost Control & Optimisation Lead cost management across all business units. Analyse financial performance and drive improvements. Support operations in finding efficiencies and margin growth. Compliance & Audit Ensure adherence to statutory obligations and accounting standards. Manage year-end audits and liaise with external auditors. Maintain strong internal controls. Team Leadership Manage and mentor the accounts team. Oversee payroll, AP, AR, and general ledger activities. Drive improvements in finance processes and systems. Strategic Support & Growth Work with the Finance Director and Group leadership on acquisition modelling and integration. Hospitality Portfolio Focus Oversee the finances for our current portfolio and support future additions. Help structure reporting and controls across multiple operating formats. Ideal Candidate Profile Qualifications Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred but not essential. Experience 3+ years in a similar financial leadership role. Background in hospitality, retail, or multi-site operations. Skills Strong grasp of reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Confident in financial systems and tools (e.g. Sage, Excel, POS systems). Ability to lead a team and influence non-finance stakeholders. Excellent communication and commercial awareness. Required Criteria We are looking for an ambitious, confident and professional individual with strong communication, organisational, analytical and people management skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality industry or food and beverage environment. The ideal candidate will be a qualified or part qualified accountant. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures with strong internal control awareness Desired Criteria The candidate should have a professional accounting designation, and 2+ years progressively responsible experience culminating in a senior financial position in a related sector. Experience in liaising with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills will be key.
