Trainee Fresh Food Manager – Westmeath

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Trainee Fresh Food Manager to join a busy and well-established grocery retailer in Westmeath.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with fresh food or deli experience who is ready to progress into management. Full training and development will be provided, with a starting hourly rate of €15-€16, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the daily running of the fresh food departments (deli, bakery, chilled)
2. Ensure food safety and HACCP compliance at all times
3. Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and waste control
4. Assist in managing, training, and motivating the team
5. Maintain excellent product presentation and merchandising standards
6. Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve queries promptly
Requirements:
7. Previous experience in a fresh food or grocery retail environment
8. Strong interest in progressing into a management role
9. Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
10. Excellent communication and leadership potential
11. Willingness to learn and take on responsibility
12. Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends
