Facilities Site Engineer - Ireland
Position Overview
* Operational management, maintenance, and optimization of building systems across Irish portfolio
* Hands-on technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems required
* Focus on optimal performance, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance
Key Responsibilities
Systems Management & Maintenance
* Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation systems
* Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance scheduling
* Coordinate reactive maintenance activities
* Monitor building performance metrics and implement optimization strategies
Technical Project Leadership
* Lead facilities improvement projects from conception through completion
* Manage system upgrades, retrofits, and new installations
* Prepare technical specifications and manage contractor relationships
* Ensure compliance with Irish building regulations and industry standards
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external service providers
Compliance & Safety Management
* Ensure full compliance with Irish health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards
* Maintain comprehensive maintenance records
* Conduct safety audits and manage statutory inspections and certifications
* Implement and monitor safety protocols for all facilities operations
Strategic Planning & Reporting
* Develop annual maintenance budgets and capital expenditure plans
* Prepare detailed technical reports on building performance and maintenance activities
* Provide improvement recommendations for senior management
* Analyze operational data to identify cost reduction and performance enhancement opportunities
Essential Requirements
Education & Professional Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
* Professional registration or working toward chartered status with Engineers Ireland (preferred)
* Relevant facilities management certifications (advantageous)
Technical Expertise
* Minimum 3-5 years experience in building services engineering or facilities management
* Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, power distribution, lighting, BMS)
* Proficiency in reading technical drawings, specifications, and system documentation
Regulatory Knowledge
* Thorough knowledge of Irish building regulations and health and safety legislation
* Understanding of energy management principles and sustainability practices
* Familiarity with statutory inspection requirements and certification processes
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems (BMS)
* Previous experience in commercial facilities or GMP facilities environment
