Chief Physicist Position

\

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead our Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Non-ionising Radiation services.

\

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and contributing to a large service covering the Cork-Kerry region in Ireland.

\

Key Responsibilities:

\

1. Leading the Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Non-ionising Radiation services
\
2. Managing a team of medical physicists
\
3. Contributing to the development of new medical physics services
\
4. Providing expertise in radiation safety and protection
\
5. Developing and implementing quality assurance programs
\
6. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
\
7. Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in medical physics
\
8. Maintaining accurate records and reports
\
9. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
\
10. Communicating effectively with colleagues, management, and patients
\
11. Fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
\
12. Participating in professional development opportunities
\
\

Requirements:

\
\
13. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related field
\
14. Possession of a Fellowship of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (FIPEM) or equivalent certification
\
15. At least 5 years of experience in medical physics, preferably in a leadership role
\
16. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
\
17. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
\
18. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
\
19. Experience with quality assurance and radiation safety protocols
\
20. Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
\
21. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
\
22. Continuous learning and professional development
\
