Role Overview
The Accounting Assistant supports daily accounting operations and ensures accurate financial recordkeeping within the organization. This role assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry, reconciliations, and the preparation of financial documents. Working closely with accountants and finance staff, the Accounting Assistant helps maintain smooth financial workflows and contributes to timely reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with processing invoices, expense reports, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
• Support accounts receivable activities, including preparing customer invoices and tracking payments.
• Perform data entry of financial transactions into accounting systems with high accuracy.
• Help maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, files, and documentation.
• Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare summaries, spreadsheets, and basic financial reports as requested by senior team members.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on pending payments or discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather required financial information.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities through documentation and reconciliation support.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, or administrative finance roles.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial documentation.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet tools and familiarity with accounting software systems.
