Purpose of the Role
The Procurement Officer will support Inform Nutrition's strategic purchasing function by ensuring the cost-effective and reliable procurement of raw materials and packaging — categories that account for over 50% of the company's expenditure. This role is critical to maintaining the company's competitiveness, profitability, and supply chain stability in a volatile market environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Management & Procurement Execution
· Source and purchase raw materials and packaging in line with company quality and cost standards.
· Review and evaluate existing supplier performance to ensure Inform Nutrition attains best value for money and remains competitive in the marketplace.
· Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers together with Quality department to strengthen supply resilience and secure strategic advantages.
· Negotiate contracts, pricing, and credit terms in alignment with company policies and financial plans.
Planning & Coordination
· Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Planning teams to align procurement activity with production schedules and quality standards.
· Attend regular production meetings to review requirements, highlight potential supply issues, and ensure forward visibility on materials availability.
· Forecast and plan 6–12 months ahead to maintain optimum stock levels while managing working capital efficiently.
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent supply performance and continuous improvement.
· Ensure all suppliers meet quality, regulatory, and sustainability standards as defined by the Quality Department.
· Conduct periodic supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans where necessary.
Strategic Contribution
· Contribute to the company's 3-year strategic plan through informed stock management, risk mitigation, and sourcing initiatives.
· Provide regular updates to senior management on supply market dynamics, risk areas, and opportunities for cost optimisation.
The Person
Essential Attributes
· Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management (experience in the feed, food, or agri-industry sector is a plus).
· Strong market research, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
· Excellent analytical and numeracy skills; highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
· Customer Focus: Committed to meeting and exceeding service standards.
· Problem Solving: Able to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and deliver results.

· Knowledge of feed ingredients, additives, and packaging materials.

Pay: €28,000.00-€32,000.00 per year
