The team has a strong reputation, regularly closing high profile transactions across the Ireland and the UK. We advise Corporates both Private & Plc’s, Government Bodies aswell as Real Estate Investors and Developers on debt-related matters, including refinancings, acquisition, development and growth financings across the bank, credit fund, ABL and capital markets and currently has a healthy book of live deals and near-term opportunities.The opportunityIn joining our team, you will be expected to play a key role in supporting our growth plans, with strong career progression opportunities, as Capital & Debt Advisory is an integral part of EY’s Strategy and Transactions business, Parthenon. While you will be based regionally, you will be a key part of the national and international Capital & Debt Advisory business, supporting our clients wherever they are based, providing great exposure to a wide range of transactions and financing markets.Your key responsibilitiesWe would like to meet candidates for a Director role as we look to strengthen our Debt Advisory team and to grow the execution and origination capabilities in line with the increased levels of activity we are seeing in the market.Debt Advisory Directors play a key role in the team and advise on a wide variety of transactions, interacting with clients and other professionals such as lenders and lawyers, overseeing / managing the transactions on a day-to-day basis, as well as playing a crucial role in winning new engagements and proactively building the pipeline.Main responsibilities include:Market facing role with the ability to generate New Business across the Irish Market.Managing and working as part of a team on projects from start to finish covering all transaction stages from initial proposal right through to completionActing as the main point of contact for clients and all stakeholders during a transaction process on day-to-day mattersOverseeing the work of project teams and coordinating various work streams, liaising with and managing various stakeholders on transactions including key client contacts, lenders and other advisorsLeading and managing the delivery of high-quality transaction documentation, including the preparation of information packs, management presentations, term sheets, structuring and financial analysis and other project deliverablesFinancial modelling, including analysing business forecasts, undertaking and evaluating scenario analysis, building financing overlays and covenant calculationsSupporting business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities, the production of high-quality collateral, developing pitch documents and attending meetings with clients and prospectsCoaching and contributing to the development of more junior team membersFurther developing your own business networkSkills and attributes for successWe would expect interested applicants to be able to demonstrate the following attributes:Significant experience of working in debt finance or debt advisory, including playing a lead role in day-to-day management of projects, including preparation of information packs, management presentations, financial analysis, term sheets and client communicationsStrong experience with financial modelling related to debt transactionsStrong stakeholder management skills, developing close working relationships with clients, lenders and other advisorsAssisting Partners and other members of the team with targeting, marketing and preparation of proposal materials, as well as client coverageProactively building and developing a network of internal and external relationships amongst professional intermediaries, private equity houses, corporate targets and clientsExperience and understanding of different debt markets, including various market conventions and parameters and being able to clearly articulate these to clients, as well as the ability to challenge conventions to develop tailored solutions and flexibly adapt as transactions evolveDemonstrate confidence in client situations, gaining client acceptance and demonstrating value through advice and insight, providing tailored, bespoke solutionsSound commercial judgement and an ability to generate creative solutions to problems and 'think on your feet'Demonstrate strong financial acumen and a solid understanding of financial statementsAgility to convert analysis into various outputs (including outputs used to support Board level conversations), to present results in a clear and concise mannerAbility to manage and develop more junior team members; andStrong time management skills, including informing the team of progress and highlighting any issues (as appropriate)What we look for:Extensive experience working in debt advisory, banking or a related field, operating in a deal-related environmentAn enthusiasm for business development, client coverage and being a face to market on behalf of the teamStrong organisational and project management skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsProven team player and ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, organisations and clientsAbility to manage tight deadlinesIdeally, you’ll also have:High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeedAccounting / finance qualification or similarAbility to learn quickly and keep abreast of developments; andAbility to build strong internal relationships within EY and a commitment to business developmentAbout EYAs a global leader in Assurance, Tax, Transaction and Advisory Services, we’re using the finance products, expertise, and systems we’ve developed to build a better working world.
