Childrens Respite, Lavanagh House, Currraheen, Cork
Contract Type: Relief
Contract Hours: Variable Hours
Salary Scale:
The current salary scale for this post is €34,382 (€*****/hour) – €41,607 (€*****/hour) pro rata per annum.
This pay scale is subject to increases in **** in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations)
Annual Leave Entitlement
: 10.7% of hours worked for variable hours contracts
Overview of the Post:
Lavanagh house Children's Respite service provides services to children with disabilities in the Cork area in active partnership and in line with the needs and wishes of the child and family.
Enable Ireland respite services are committed to working in partnership with service users and families in the planning, delivery and evaluation of all services.
Lavanagh house provides planned short term respite care, both day and night, where children will be grouped together by age and interest.
The role of Support worker is to work as part of a dedicated and innovative team to provide person centred services to children with disabilities who attend Enable Ireland Services.

Qualifications & Requirements
QQI Level 5 Major Award in one of the following:
Social Care
Pre Nursing
(8 modules to include one module on special needs/disability studies/challenging behaviour or a commitment to complete one of these modules within 6-months of commencement)
OR A comparable SNA Qualification
OR Year 1 of a relevant degree programme in Health and Social Care (such as Social Care, Child Care, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy)
AND Full Clean Manual Driving License and willingness to drive company vehicles
AND Be eligible to work in the state
Experience of supporting people with disabilities
Experience of working with people with behaviours of concern
Experience of providing personal care
Basic IT skills
