About the RoleAs our Product Design Specialist, you'll lead the early discovery and scoping phase for new product features — ensuring everything we build is grounded in strong business rationale, thoughtful UX, and clear, actionable documentation.You'll work closely with product, engineering, and customer teams to define requirements, visualise design concepts, support delivery, and ensure features land successfully with both internal users and external clients. What You'll Be DoingUnderstand & Shape the WhyAnalyse the business case for each new feature, ensuring objectives are clear and aligned to strategic priorities.Lead Research & Best Practice ReviewExplore competitor examples, industry standards, regulatory guidance, and user trends to inform high-quality design decisions.Define Scope & Set Clear BoundariesIdentify what is (and isn't) included for each feature — communicating scope clearly to all stakeholders.Create High-Quality Scoping DocumentationProduce detailed concepts, workflows, and scoping packs to guide design, development, and testing teams.Support & Guide the Development ProcessProvide engineers with clear direction on feature requirements, functionality, and intended user outcomes.Maintain ongoing communication with development teams to ensure build aligns with design intent.Monitor Timelines & Report on ProgressTrack milestones and proactively flag delays, risks, or dependencies.Support Internal & External TrainingHelp internal teams understand the feature's purpose and benefits.Deliver client training or feature walkthroughs when needed.Drive Creativity & Continuous ImprovementPresent new product ideas and improvements for discussion.Recommend enhancements to existing features based on legislation, industry standards, and best practice.Bring Ideas to Life VisuallyDevelop wireframes, design concepts, sketches, and prototypes that clearly communicate workflows and layouts.
