An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Human Resources team as a Payroll Specialist.
This role provides highly ambitious and motivated candidates with the opportunity to become a key part of an established team. This will be both a challenging and fulfilling opportunity with the potential to develop your range of skills significantly.
Main Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing across Grant Thornton (in collaboration with an outsourced payroll provider), from data collection & inputs, review & verification and post paydate analysis & reporting
Identify areas for process improvement, system enhancements, and automation to streamline payroll operations
Process and manage benefits activity and related administration across the full Grant Thornton benefits offering (e.g. Pension, TaxSaver, Bike to Work, Healthcare) to include; employee set up, removal of leavers, employee queries and reporting
Liaise with benefit providers to ensure all benefit related data is processed timely and accurate records maintained
Assist with annual renewal of benefit schemes e.g. pension and risk benefits
Assist Finance department with payroll related reconciliations
Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, resolving discrepancies and providing clear explanations of pay and deductions.
Implement internal controls to ensure all payroll changes are captured accurately and to mitigate against errors
Support internal & external audits relating to payroll as required
Participate in projects relating to payroll and benefits
Provide support with other ad-hoc duties as required
Skills and attributes:
3 – 4 years experience in a similar role in a HR / Finance department
certified payroll qualification would be an advantage e.g. iPass or alternative equivalent
proficiency in HRIS platforms, with a strong preference for experience using Oracle
exposure to benefits administration and HR Operations
high level of accuracy and detail orientation in payroll calculations and compliance.
strong working knowledge of MS Office packages, particularly Excel
excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines
excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and implement process improvements
