Role Summary
The charging group requires test resources to complete functional safety relevant subsystem testing to support upcoming Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) programmes. System testing will be conducted using a selection of Hardware In The Loop (HIL) test assets located in Shannon, Ireland.
La Fosse is seeking two embedded systems test engineers for a six-month period, working onsite. These engineers will be part of the functional safety system engineering team, responsible for comprehensive testing of the functional safety functions within the high voltage power supply system.
This work will be part of the customer’s functional safety system engineering team, focusing on testing the safety functions of the high voltage power supply system.
The project duration is a minimum of 6 months.
Area of Responsibility
* The engineers shall support the onsite team and the wider functional safety system engineering team in the outlined activities, being present onsite 5 days a week at the customer workshop in Shannon.
* The engineers shall have knowledge and experience working with embedded systems for power electronics components, including On Board Charging, DC to DC converters, Battery Energy Management, Battery Management Systems, supervisory circuits, and functional safety processes such as ISO26262.
* The engineers shall have experience with National Instruments test equipment, such as PXI, data acquisition cards, CAN, LIN, Ethernet cards, analog output cards, and tools like TestStand, VeriStand, and LabVIEW.
* The engineers shall have experience implementing automated tests that measure accurate timing sequences.
* The engineers shall have experience modeling components as part of closed-loop testing methods in an HIL system.
* The engineers shall support lessons learned and continuous improvement activities across all programmes as best practices.
Knowledge / Experience
* Review requirements and test item documentation.
* Create test strategies based on analysis of test items and various test methods.
* Leverage test automation, execute tests, and report test results.
* Raise product defects as needed.
* Develop and maintain HIL test assets to support testing activities.
* Prepare project closure plans detailing completed test reports, test asset documentation, and all related documentation.
* Develop handover plans for any outstanding work to the customer at the end of the contract.
