Health & Safety Lead University of Galway Unijobs are currently recruiting for a a Work Stream Lead to support the initial implementation of the new Health & Safety Management System (HSMS). This full(1)time temporary position will serve as the primary liaison between the vendor and the University's Project Team throughout the implementation phase, from vendor onboarding through to the conclusion of the hypercare period. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated implementation, with responsibility for managing operational readiness and supporting stakeholders throughout the transition. Principal duties and responsibilities: Coordinate all aspects of the HSMS implementation on behalf of the University. Serve as the main liaison between the vendor and the University's Project Team, led by the Head of Compliance. Provide regular progress updates to the Project Team. Lead and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT): identify and brief testers, develop test scripts, and oversee the testing process. Develop a cutover plan to support transition to the new system and ensure readiness for go-live. Oversee the rollout of end-user training in coordination with the vendor. Support the project through go-live and remain in post until the conclusion of the hypercare period. Essential Requirements: Project Coordination Experience: Demonstrated experience coordinating projects or workstreams, ideally involving IT system or process implementations. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between internal stakeholders and external vendors. Organisational Skills: Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks within defined timelines. Testing Coordination: Experience supporting or coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparing scripts, managing testers, and capturing outcomes. Training Support: Experience in organising or delivering end-user training, briefings, or guidance materials. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues during implementation and escalate or resolve them appropriately. Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation. Desirable: Experience in the implementation of Health & Safety Management Systems or other compliance(1)related software. Previous experience in a university or large, complex organisation. Knowledge of project management approaches (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile). The ability to use MS Project to generate monitor progress and generate reports. Unijobs is an equal opportunities employer.
