Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Planner / Buyer Co-ordinator to join
our team in a fast-paced environment operating in the Industrial, MedTech and
Aerospace sectors.
This role is primarily focused on production planning, scheduling, and
coordination to ensure efficient flow through manufacturing from order receipt to
dispatch. The successful candidate will ensure production priorities are met,
resources are allocated effectively, and data is accurately maintained in the Priority
ERP system. Experience with metal wire suppliers and procurement coordination
will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling (Primary Focus)
Create and maintain detailed, realistic production schedules in line with customer
delivery dates, available capacity, and material availability.
Proactively monitor progress against schedules, adjusting plans to resolve
bottlenecks and minimise downtime.
Liaise daily with production, engineering, and quality teams to align resources and
priorities.
Track and report on work order status using Priority ERP, ensuring live and accurate
data for decision-making.
Analyse capacity and workload to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
Forecast material requirements based on demand plans and upcoming orders.
Coordination & Communication
Act as the central point for production schedule updates and changes.
Communicate changes promptly to internal teams and, where appropriate, to
customers.
Support the Operations Manager in monitoring performance metrics such as on-time
delivery, WIP levels, and throughput.
Work closely with quality and engineering to ensure production readiness for new or
modified products.
Procurement Support (Secondary Focus)
Raise purchase requisitions for materials and components required for planned
production.
Liaise with suppliers on delivery schedules to match production needs.
Maintain awareness of stock levels and flag potential shortages early.
Assist with sourcing, particularly for metal wire and other critical materials.
Requirements
Essential
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a production planning role within manufacturing.
Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems; Priority ERP experience highly
desirable.
Proven ability to manage schedules in a fast-moving, multi-sector manufacturing
environment.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data.
Clear and confident communication skills.
Desirable
Experience in industrial, MedTech, or aerospace manufacturing.
Familiarity with metal wire raw material specifications and supplier management.
Knowledge of quality and traceability requirements in regulated industries.
Education
Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Production Management,
Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
