Location of Post
Based at Galway University Hospitals (GUH), a major academic teaching hospital with a Dietetic Service across UHG and MPUH. The team comprises 26 WTE dietitians providing care in areas including radiotherapy, haematology, oncology, stroke, gastroenterology, care of the elderly, diabetes, obesity, general medicine, surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, nutrition support, neurology, renal, critical care, maternal health, gynaecology, respiratory, cardiology, orthopaedics, maxillofacial surgery, emergency, trauma, urology, cystic fibrosis, paediatrics, neonates.
We offer a structured basic grade rotation, are a Practice Education site for the University of Limerick, and support CPD. Our department promotes flexible hours and internal reassignments to foster work-life balance.
Current Vacancy: A 0.3 WTE Clinical Specialist Dietitian position in Paediatrics, permanent. This role involves developing a paediatric allergy service, initially based at UHG with cross-site work at MPUH, including clinics and virtual sessions.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Paediatric Team, including consultants and CNS, to develop care pathways, conduct joint sessions, and support clinics. There will be opportunities for professional development and attendance at relevant conferences.
The role involves working across various paediatric services, including neonatology, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, oncology, neurology, endocrinology, neurodisability, congenital heart disease, and infant feeding clinics.
We are a proactive team of 6 dietitians across paediatrics and neonatology, providing a supportive environment for professional growth. The candidate may be required to work in any service area as needed.
