Overview
About The Role ORS has recently acquired a Mechanical & Electrical consultancy and are looking to expand and grow the team. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the newly integrated team. The successful candidate will be based in the Munster/ Limerick region with the local office based in Limerick. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will gain exposure to projects from early concept stages through to construction and project handover. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of electrical building services projects across Ireland, taking ownership of design, coordination, and client engagement.
Responsibilities
Lead the electrical design of building services systems across all project stages
Prepare and review electrical calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation
Oversee and check AutoCAD and Revit (BIM) drawings/models for quality and compliance
Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, and external consultants
Manage project delivery, including timelines, resourcing, and client interface
Lead site inspections, technical submittal reviews, and respond to contractor RFIs during construction
Prepare and review tender documentation and technical assessments
Ensure compliance with Irish standards (ET101, BS, EN, IEC, CIBSE)
Contribute to energy-efficient and low-carbon electrical design strategies (e.g. lighting efficiency, smart systems, renewables integration)
Mentor and review work of junior engineers
Essential Requirements
Possess a relevant 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field
8–10+ years’ experience in electrical building services design (Ireland experience preferred)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)
Experience in leading projects and dealing directly with clients and contractors
Strong understanding of Irish building regulations and compliance requirements
Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience mentoring junior staff
Awareness of sustainable electrical design and energy compliance
