The Role
* Senior IT Systems Engineer
* Onsite Role - No remote working. The role is fully onsite.

Role Brief
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing IT and Business Process Technical expertise to support manufacturing operations for a key NNIT client. You will support in the SLC of validation documentation and investigate and troubleshoot MES and control systems to support optimization of system operations amongst other tasks. The role will have supervisory and management responsibilities and lead IT projects working with cross functional teams.
Core Responsibilities
* Responsible for diagnosing and resolving problems and implementing a solution to prevent reoccurrence (Root cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventative Actions).
* Ability to assist with new machine integrations, configuration of peripheral devices and process recipe updates.
* Supports system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing and coordination with operations.
* Supports end-users in day-to-day use of department systems and implement solutions to issues including training, process updates, documentation, system break fix or enhancements.
* Monitors IT processes to ensure compliance to corporate, divisional and local policies and procedures.
* Supports and enforces audit compliant policies and standards.
* Communicate with project teams for regular updates, reports, and project escalations.
* Ensure that the testing and change control strategies meet corporate policy requirements.
* Integration of hardware, software, communication protocols and interfaces to the users.
* Support 24x7 on-call production support as part of rotating team coverage.
* Assist in defining standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics.
* Support IT maintenance schedules
* Ensures Local IT has business continuity/disaster recovery plans and participates in testing of plans, as necessary and monitors results of business continuity testing.
Skills Brief
* 5+ years experience working with IT systems such as MES, SCADA and DCS in a Pharma, Life Sciences or Medical Devices Manufacturing environment.
* Proven knowledge and experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage: SCADA, Control Systems, Vision Systems.
* Experience in project management and ownership and/or in a lead IT systems role.
* Ability to Investigate/ troubleshoot MES and control systems to support optimization of system operations.
* Experience with POMS MES system & exposure to system upgrades a distinct advantage.
* Web and application server management.
* SAP, OSI Pi knowledge, technical and functional would be added advantage.
* Technical capability and comfortable with working with Oracle and basic knowledge of SQL scripting, Web and application services.
Person Brief
Candidates must have a minimum of a level 8 B.Sc. Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in industry in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences or medical devices GMP manufacturing environment. Experience in a senior/lead role where you have owned systems upgrade, integration or other related projects is essential
As this role is fully onsite in the North West and the successful candidate must be based in this or within a reasonable commute of the client site. Only candidates with a current valid work permit to work in Ireland can be considered due to project timelines.
