Job Title Production Design and Materials Engineer Location Mohill, Co Leitrim, Ireland About the Role We are seeking a practical and detail driven Production Design and Materials Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

This is a hands on role focused on supporting real production.

You will take ownership of production component drawings while also ensuring the correct materials and parts are available for manufacturing.

Your work will directly support the workshop by helping maintain smooth production flow with fewer delays, fewer stock shortages, and better standardisation.

This role sits between design, production, purchasing, and continuous improvement.

A graduate may also be considered for this position.

Key Responsibilities Production Design Create and maintain component drawings for production Update and manage revisions of legacy parts Ensure drawings are clear, practical, and manufacturable Standardise common components where possible Support the workshop with technical queries Materials and Stock Management Monitor stock levels of production materials and components Maintain minimum stock levels for fast moving items Track material usage and consumption Raise and manage material purchase requirements Stay ahead of material demand based on production needs Ordering and Supplier Coordination Order raw materials such as bar, tube, plate, and bought in components Coordinate with suppliers to ensure correct specifications Work with laser cutters and external suppliers when required Ensure materials are available before production begins BOM and Component Control Maintain accurate production BOMs Link drawings to materials Ensure assemblies include all required components Support planning by identifying material needs early Production Support Act as a technical link between office and workshop Help resolve build issues quickly Suggest stock based alternatives where suitable Improve manufacturability of existing designs Lean and SOP Development Support the implementation of Lean practices across the factory Assist in improving workflow and production efficiency Develop and maintain SOPs for manufacturing processes Help standardise repeat tasks and production methods Essential Requirements Proven Solid Works experience is mandatory Strong understanding of machined components and fabrication Experience working in a production environment Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes Ability to interpret and produce production ready drawings Desirable Experience Hydraulics or heavy engineering Production planning Stock control systems Supplier coordination What Success Looks Like Production runs with fewer delays Stock is available when needed Parts are standardised Drawings are clear and usable Emergency material orders are reduced This Role Would Suit Someone Who Enjoys solving real production problems Wants to see their work built Is structured and detail focused Prefers practical engineering over theory A graduate may also be considered for this position.

Job Types: Full-time, Graduate Pay: €40,000.00-€55,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
